Presence defined: the stat or fact of being present, as with others or in a place, in attendance or in the company of.

The web explores this idea of presence in a whole new way. It isn't so much being somewhere or physically with someone but rather allowing yourself and your ideas to be seen by others. On the web the more presence you have means the more of you that you allow to be seen by others. Where you are, what your doing, your likes, your dislikes etc. The web is redefining our relationships with others. You no longer have to go over to your friends house to show them pictures of your recent trip, your cat, or your new set of wheels now you can post those pictures, thoughts, and ideas to your blog and allow other to comment on them. All this is done when you and perhaps more importantly when they have the time. Your lives don't need to be rearranged to allow time for your friendship but rather you learn about and share with each other and when your lives align you visit. Hope to see you soon.
